About the role
- TEGNA is hiring bold, creative interns for the 2027 Summer News Internship Program who embrace cutting-edge tech to deliver high-impact journalism.
- This 10-week paid internship runs from May 31 to August 6, 2027, at select TEGNA stations nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and research stories that matter
- Create content for streaming, digital, social, and TV
- Work alongside reporters, producers, anchors, and meteorologists—sometimes in the field
- Jump in on special projects that shape local coverage
Requirements
- Current college junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Studying journalism, communications, or a related major
- Passion for TV news producing, TV news reporting, or TV meteorology
- Experience writing, editing, fact-checking, and using digital/social tools
- Strong communicator who never misses deadlines
