About the role
- As the Bar Captain at Soho Beach House Miami, you represent the highest standard of service and act as a respected example and extension of the management team.
- You supervise staff during shifts, ensure beverages meet quality control standards, and oversee multiple aspects of operating and supplying the bar to deliver positive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Act as extension of management team and maintain programs such as house-made syrups, fresh juices, batching, barrel aged cocktails, bespoke coffee, hot beverages, and specialty cocktails.
- Ensure cleanliness of the bar including underneath bar top, sink basins, speed rails, storage areas, floors and drains below the wells, back bar bottles, glassware shelves, and metal surfaces on low boys and espresso machine.
- Maintain a safe and clean workstation, update Side Work Sheets, and communicate inventory and purchase orders required to efficiently and effectively operate the bar.
- Represent Soho House ethos, standards, and the philosophy of House Tonic program while influencing sales to generate revenue.
- Complete, delegate, and support management by carrying out opening and closing bar duties to meet Health Department and Soho House standards.
- Assist and participate in the development of seasonal menu implementations for the beverage program, including new product tasting with suppliers.
- Support and participate in product and skill educational opportunities and the development of the beverage training program for all staff.
- Remain well-versed and knowledgeable about all food and drink menu items, pairing opportunities, and upselling to provide optimal guest and member experience.
- Follow service standards, craft Soho cocktails using mixture of ingredients, and collect payment through MIROS or a similar POS.
- Check customer identification to verify age requirements for alcohol and tobacco products, and determine when a customer has consumed too much alcohol.
Requirements
- 5+ years of bar experience and proven leader with exceptional skills to influence others behind the bar.
- Strong communication and people skills while cognizant of the bottom line and generating revenue.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and demanding environment without sacrificing quality.
- Flexible schedule.
- Tips certified.

- Micros knowledge a plus.
