Abridge is seeking an engineering leader to serve as the senior technical presence in their New York SoHo office.
This role involves building out the local engineering team, owning business-critical product areas end-to-end, and establishing the office's culture and operating rhythm.
The position is a builder-focused leadership role that requires hands-on technical involvement and a strong point of view on agentic AI.

Build and lead the New York engineering presence, establishing the operating rhythm, quality bar, and culture.
Drive execution velocity and set business context for the team.
Partner closely with product and design teams.
Own a product area from ambiguity to shipped, enterprise-grade software.
Set technical direction and make architecture calls.
Review code and unblock technical challenges as needed.
Hire and mentor engineers to grow their skills and careers.
Represent Abridge engineering in the New York office.

At least 5+ years managing software engineering teams, including experience as a manager of managers or as the most senior engineering leader in a location.
Track record of building from zero to real scale.
Experience owning product outcomes rather than just engineering processes.
Hands-on technical ability to review code and participate in technical design discussions.
Clear, well-formed point of view on AI and agentic engineering with evidence of action.
Skilled at hiring and mentorship.
Experience thriving in a fast-growing startup environment.
Based in New York and able to work from the SoHo office five days a week.
Genuine passion for Abridge's mission to improve healthcare.

Experience as a site lead or founding senior engineering leader for a new office or region.
Experience managing or working directly with AI/ML engineering teams.
