About the role
- As an Experienced Backend Engineer on the Taboola News team in the Tel Aviv office, you will build and scale products that help millions discover content online.
- You will work on large-scale, real-time systems powering content recommendation and personalization for major OEMs.
- You will own your work end to end from design and implementation to deployment and performance measurement.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of products for some of the world's largest OEMs, from design and development to deployment, measurement, and maintenance.
- Develop and scale real-time Big Data operations processing over 140 TB of new data every day.
- Build and improve core Taboola News products, including content recommendation and personalization.
- Design and implement reliable, scalable backend services that support millions of users worldwide.
- Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver and continuously improve products.
- Measure product performance and use data and KPIs to guide iterations and improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of programming experience in Java or an equivalent object-oriented language, preferably Java with Spring.
- A BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, application programming, and multithreading.
- Experience working in a Big Data environment and/or familiarity with A/B testing concepts.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Big Data technologies and large-scale data processing.
- A deep understanding of A/B testing concepts and methodologies.
