About the role
- Alten Technology is seeking an Injection Molding Engineer – Automotive to act as a Resident Engineer representing the company at a key OEM customer site.
- The role serves as the technical and commercial link between the customer and internal engineering, sales, and program teams.
- Responsibilities involve working directly with OEM engineering and purchasing teams to resolve technical issues, support new product launches, and strengthen customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the primary product design engineering interface between our company and the OEM
- Supporting quoting, new business development, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Supporting product and process development from concept through production launch
- Maintaining strong day-to-day customer relationships
- Communicating customer requirements internally and driving timely resolution
- Coordinating design reviews, tooling, mold trials, and engineering changes if needed
- Troubleshooting molding, tooling, dimensional, and quality issues if needed
- Working closely with OEM engineering, purchasing, quality, and program teams
Requirements
- Experience in plastics injection molding and/or automotive manufacturing
- Strong understanding of part design, tooling, molding processes, quality, and program management
- Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and customer-facing skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience within automotive plastics, injection molding, tooling, or a Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier environment
