About the role
- The Professional Services team at Stripe works with strategic users on high-visibility projects to provide technical expertise.
- This role involves leading strategic conversations and developing plans to transform payments and financial infrastructure for large enterprises.
- The Integration Engineer will guide users through solution design and complex integrations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute integration engineering end-to-end from architecture to code implementation.
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand user goals and guide high-complexity integrations.
- Communicate technical concepts and API architecture to users while managing expectations.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for large users and partners.
- Resolve integration issues and own escalations for operational issues.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architecture, and Implementation teams to drive client engagement.
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on field insights.
- Perform deep technical support, debugging, and proof-of-concept development.
- Lead hands-on implementations, including feedback on coding practices, CI/CD, and architecture.
- Build tools, analytics, and dashboards to support business reviews.
Requirements
- 6 years or more of experience in a Software Engineering or Integration Engineering role.
- Ability to write code in languages such as Go, Java, or C/C++.
- Proficiency in code-level debugging for both Stripe and user code.
- Strong generalist technical experience including SQL proficiency.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Understanding of the payments domain and API security topics.
- Ability to explain product features and API architecture to technical audiences.
- User-first approach with the ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.
- Confidence in leading strategic technical conversations with customers.
