- The Lead QA Automation Engineer will define quality strategy and govern automation frameworks for PetConnect and POS B&M applications. This role involves architecting robust end-to-end automation using Playwright and integrating generative AI tools like Claude to accelerate testing workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead the automation strategy and development of automated test scripts for PetConnect and POS B&M applications.
- Architect, build, and scale robust end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Drive the adoption of generative AI tools, specifically Claude, to accelerate test case creation and script maintenance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define scope, objectives, and deliverables for testing.
- Establish and champion quality assurance best practices and rigorous QA assessments.
- Spearhead Playwright best practices including parallel execution and multi-browser strategies.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship for automation frameworks and team members.
- Track and report on metric-driven indicators of test efficiency and release readiness.
- Oversee bug triage workflows, root cause analysis, and automated test code reviews.
- Bridge communication between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Quality leadership experience managing complex projects related to retail, B&M, and Mobile POS applications.
- 7+ years of experience working with Web, Mobile, and API Service based applications.
- Deep proficiency in validating front-end web applications, back-end web services, and microservices using Postman and SoapUI.
- 7+ years of expertise with automation tools including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, PyTest, Robot, and BDD/TDD paradigms.
- Extensive hands-on experience leveraging AI tools and Claude for test generation and framework construction.
- 5+ years of experience with Appium and related mobile automation tools.
- 5+ years of experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Expertise in version control workflows using Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Proven track record of configuring CI/CD pipelines and test scheduling via Jenkins.
