Cursor is seeking a Regional Director, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead and scale a team of FDEs working across strategic enterprise accounts in India.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining deep technical credibility, people management, and project scoping to ensure successful enterprise engagements.
You will manage a growing team, serve as the primary point of contact for customers, own project delivery and relationships, and build the partner FDE track.

Own the full arc from technical discovery to executive close by partnering with Sales and Account teams to qualify opportunities and lead architecture reviews.
Build and present proposals that translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI.
Drive deal strategy on strategic accounts to impact close rates for six- and seven-figure engagements.
Serve as executive technical sponsor on the region's highest-priority engagements and manage stakeholder relationships from IC engineers to C-suite.
Ensure delivery quality across the team's projects including appropriate scoping, milestone tracking, technical standards, and clean handoffs.
Identify and escalate product gaps, integration friction, and recurring customer pain back to Product and Engineering.
Manage active engagements by coaching FDEs on scoping and delivery decisions and stepping in directly on high-stakes accounts.
Build reusable playbooks to improve the broader FDE organization over time.
Lead, develop, and scale a team of 6–8 Forward Deployed Engineers while hiring top-tier talent and setting technical performance standards.
Build and scale the partner FDE track by training, enabling, and holding the quality bar for GSI and consulting partners.

8+ years of experience leading technical teams that build and ship in production in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a similar function where writing and reviewing code is part of the job.
Experience with software development and coding in Python, Javascript/Typescript.
Experience building and owning AI-native workflows in production and debugging real-world model failures.
Ability to diagnose a complex enterprise engineering environment quickly, identify the highest-leverage intervention, and scope a meaningful engagement.
Experience building and scaling IC-level technical teams with a focus on sharp scoping, clean delivery, and knowledge transfer.
