About the role
- The Runner plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- This role acts as a key link in the dining experience, responsible for delivering food and beverages promptly while maintaining cleanliness and organization across service areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food and drinks quickly from the kitchen or bar to members' tables.
- Maintain a spotless and pristine work environment.
- Provide service to and remain accountable for an assigned section.
- Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
- Polish cutlery to ensure readiness for service.
- Prepare table additions in advance, such as lemon wraps, condiments, and butter portions.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including station set up and break down.
- Handle and store all service equipment carefully.
- Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu changes, specials, and participate in daily tastings.
Requirements
- 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a hands-on approach
- Confident, polished, and professional demeanour
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software
