About the role
- InMobi is seeking a high-performing SDE-III with deep backend engineering expertise and strong foundations in data engineering for the SSP Exchange team.
- This role involves working at the intersection of AI, large-scale systems, and ad tech to develop intelligent experiences that simplify and automate the digital advertising lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop large-scale backend services, APIs, and microservices for high-throughput data systems.
- Build and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines using technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, etc.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data analysts and engineers to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
- Optimize performance and reliability of distributed systems; ensure low-latency data ingestion and processing.
- Champion code quality, performance, and modern engineering practices (CI/CD, containerization, observability, fault tolerance) and mentor juniors.
- Drive architectural decisions, lead technical discussions, and contribute to platform roadmap.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of backend engineering experience, preferably in large-scale, high-traffic environments.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Go; familiarity with Python for data use cases is a plus.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and concurrency.
- Experience with modern data infrastructure (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks, Presto, ClickHouse).
- Exposure to cloud-native architecture (GCP/Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for action and ownership.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in AdTech, Martech, or E-Commerce domains.
- Exposure to ML model lifecycle: training, serving, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Prior experience with AI-powered UX: conversational UI, suggestion engines, or personalization.
- Agentic development (e.g., Cursor, LangChain, Windsurf) and building agents for business impact and dev productivity.
