About the role
- The Print Optimization Team at Formlabs focuses on optimizing the intersection of hardware, software, and materials to improve SLA and SLS print performance.
- The Senior 3D Print Optimization Engineer will drive performance improvements by solving multi-disciplinary challenges and developing solutions that impact customer print quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Push the capabilities of SLA and SLS 3D printing platforms.
- Architect 3D printing optimization methodologies to improve printer performance.
- Drive root cause analysis across mechanics, fluid dynamics, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, and thermodynamics.
- Design efficient experiments to analyze complex systems of variables.
- Tackle multi-disciplinary problems.
- Develop and commercialize solutions that impact customer print performance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of post-graduate experience.
- Experience in test design where results impact product performance.
- Shipped a product or process to end users.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to cross discipline boundaries.
- Ability to work autonomously and learn new skills.
- B.S., M.S., or PhD in any science or engineering discipline.
Preferred qualifications
- Coding experience, ideally Python.
- Experience in computer-aided design (CAD).
- Understanding of material properties and characterization.
- Participation in the release of a new product.
