The Opportunity:

The Senior Counsel, Data Privacy will serve as a key legal partner guiding Agoda’s global privacy strategy across high-visibility domains including cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
This role involves acting as an embedded partner to translate complex, global data protection laws into pragmatic, high-velocity solutions that support product, marketing, and tech teams.

Partner proactively with Product and Tech teams to conduct privacy impact assessments and define scalable product requirements.
Provide practical privacy counsel to marketing teams regarding conventional and cutting-edge marketing strategies.
Draft and negotiate privacy provisions, data protection-related agreements, and templates.
Design negotiation playbooks, fallbacks, and self-service guidelines.
Manage regulatory change for new and amended data protection laws.
Collaborate with the Privacy Program team to facilitate audits and manage reporting obligations.
Contribute to cross-brand initiatives within the Booking Holdings Inc. family.
Lead privacy legal advisory on the deployment of generative AI and machine learning models.
Conduct AI risk assessments.
Support enquiries, authority demand requests, and escalations relating to data subject rights.

6+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at a reputable law firm.
Law degree from a top law school with excellent academic credentials.
Deep practical knowledge of major international privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, PIPA, APPI, DPDPA, and PIPL.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated experience in building trust, forging collaboration, and influencing cross-functional partners.
Strong strategic and commercial risk calibration skills.
