About the role

Responsibilities
- Craft compelling newscasts that embrace breaking news, enterprise content, emotion, and showcasing
- Work directly with the Executive Producer, anchors, and news leaders to build a high-quality news show
- Produce regularly scheduled live, streaming content
- Act as a leader in the newsroom
- Demonstrate strong news judgement and understand the tenets of ethical journalism
- Manage the newscast’s timing and aggressively cover breaking news
- Write accurate, urgent, and engaging copy
- Use creative production techniques including graphics, pre-production, and unique camera shots
- Calmly handle live and breaking news in the control room
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- Five years of news content experience
- Strong news judgement and use of analytics to make bold editorial decisions
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Availability to work shifts including overnight hours, holidays, and weekends
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of ENPS
- Knowledge of Edius
- Knowledge of editing systems
- Knowledge of content management systems
