About the role
- The Continuous Profiler team at Datadog builds high-performance profiling products that run continuously in production to provide insights into application performance. As a distributed systems engineer, you will contribute to the core services that intake, process, index, and store profiling data at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and contribute to core services for the profiling product at scale.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary squads to iterate on product ideas from exploration to production.
- Manage code from development through production, meeting ambitious SLO and quality gates.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on data consumption methods including UI, agentic tools, and integrations.
Requirements
- Experience with Java and/or Go.
- Experience as a distributed systems engineer building high-performance, large-scale systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to review architectural proposals and guide technical trade-offs.
- Experience working with AI coding agents to produce performant and maintainable results.
- Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of statistical methods such as sampling strategies, Bayesian optimization, and sensor fusion.
