About the role
- You will join a people-focused company as a Software Engineer on Vendavo's Enterprise CPQ platform, a greenfield, event-sourced, cloud-native product built on AWS.
- This is a backend-focused role centering on event sourcing and CQRS, where services communicate through streamed events rather than shared databases.
- You will work with AI coding agents every day as a standard part of how the engineering team ships features.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend event-sourced .NET services on .NET 10 / ASP.NET Core, deployed to AWS EKS behind an Istio service mesh
- Implement aggregates, commands, events and read-model projections using Marten and Wolverine
- Implement vertical slices from the event model through to a working feature, including backend handlers, projections, GraphQL API and React screens
- Build GraphQL APIs with Hot Chocolate, including filtering, sorting, pagination and multi-tenant request handling
- Work with AWS Kinesis streams and Amazon MSK for cross-service integration, designing handlers that are idempotent and safe to replay
- Read and update the team's event models, keeping them in step with the code, and participate in modelling sessions
- Work with Terraform infrastructure and Helm deployments, and with Azure DevOps pipelines
- Use AI coding agents as a normal part of delivery, including shared plugins, repository conventions, and AI-assisted PR review
- Contribute to the React 18 and TypeScript frontend when a feature needs full-stack delivery
- Contribute to the modernization of established CPQ and Pricepoint products, including moving business logic out of SQL Server stored procedures into maintainable .NET code
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development in modern .NET
- Working understanding of Domain-Driven Design and CQRS, with an appetite for event sourcing
- Comfort with asynchronous and message-driven code
- Solid SQL and relational data modelling
- Experience building HTTP or GraphQL APIs
- Docker and working familiarity with Kubernetes
- Exposure to a major cloud, ideally AWS
- CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows with PR review
- Testing experience with xUnit and integration tests
- Regular hands-on use of an AI coding agent on real code

- Azure DevOps preferred for CI/CD pipelines
