About the role
- The Software Engineer II (Full-Stack) will join the MX Intelligence team in London to build tools for finding, signing, and onboarding merchants.
- This role involves working across the stack, from backend services and integrations to web tools used by sales and operations teams.
- The engineer will contribute to replacing a legacy Salesforce-based stack with a new, shared first-party platform across Deliveroo, DoorDash, and Wolt.
Responsibilities
- Improve code structure and influence system architecture.
- Review code of any scope produced by the team.
- Simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems.
- Ensure operational readiness and health of team systems.
- Build relationships with other engineering teams to identify collaboration opportunities.
- Own larger pieces of work and assist with design and technical implementation choices.
- Influence the team roadmap.
- Participate in the hiring process and conduct engineering interviews.
- Support the personal growth of colleagues and encourage efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience writing web-based applications in any language.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above).
- Experience with NoSQL data backends (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache).
- Experience solving logistical problems with software.
- Pride in readable, well-designed, and well-tested software.
