About the role
- The Software Engineer III on the Integrations team will build backend services that connect the ZoomInfo platform to CRM and marketing automation tools.
- This role involves developing reliable, real-time data synchronization across millions of records using Node.js, NestJS, and Kafka.
- Engineers will work alongside senior team members to deepen expertise in distributed systems and take ownership of small-to-medium features.
Responsibilities
- Build backend integration services and features using Node.js and NestJS.
- Implement connectivity, data ingestion, and export logic between ZoomInfo's data layer and third-party platforms.
- Develop reliable job execution patterns, including retries and basic state management.
- Create and maintain APIs and internal services that integrate with external systems.
- Add logging, metrics, and tracing to ensure service observability.
- Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Own small-to-medium features end to end in partnership with product and platform teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Working experience with Node.js.
- Familiarity with REST API design, including request/response patterns, status codes, and error handling.
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with technical and non-technical partners.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to NestJS or Java (Spring Boot)
- Experience integrating with external APIs or CRM/MAP platforms
- Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
- Exposure to NoSQL or relational databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Interest in distributed systems concepts such as queues, event-driven patterns, and eventual consistency
