About the role
- Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer (Machine Learning) Intern for a 12-16 week internship during Summer 2027.
- Interns work as contributing members of the engineering team on meaningful projects with opportunities to ship code and verify it works in production.
- Projects are tailored to individual skills in collaboration with a mentor and manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop and ship a project and verify that it works in production
- Ship code and monitor the deployment of your work
- Collaborate with your mentor and manager to spec a project that contributes to your team
- Meet regularly with a dedicated mentor to receive advice and feedback
- Present your work to the entire engineering organization at the end of the internship
Requirements
- Passion and dedication to changing consumer banking for the better
- Experience with Python, C/C++ or Java
- Frontend experience in WebApps/JavaScript/AngularJS/React
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with object oriented programming
- Deployment and testing frameworks
- API development/documentation
- AWS or other PaaS frameworks
