About CircuitHub
- CircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform that makes small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly radically more efficient. Think semiconductor-fab precision applied to the chaotic world of prototyping and low-volume production: a 10x throughput improvement in one of the world's most foundational industries.
- We've raised $45M from top-tier investors including Plural, Y Combinator and Google Ventures, and we're already profitable. Our customers include a major EV maker, a top AI lab and many of the worlds largest companies.
- The Grid isn't a prototype. It's live, scaling fast and delivering real revenue, and we're building the team that will scale it further.
About the role
- CircuitHub is seeking a Software Engineer, Robotics to architect the robot operating system for The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform.
- You will integrate novel computer vision algorithms, build agentic robotics, and coordinate a fleet of movers and hardware in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Architect the robot operating system by designing core abstractions for how robots, cameras, tools, and jobs are modelled, work is planned and dispatched, state is shared, and failures are handled.
- Integrate novel computer vision algorithms into the control loop for tasks such as finding and centring parts and checking every pick and placement.
- Put large models to work in the robots for programming new parts from datasheets, judging picks, diagnosing faults, and recovering with evals.
- Route dozens of movers at once without collisions or deadlocks and coordinate gantries, printers, and ovens.
- Design clean interfaces between high-level planning and real-time controllers driving the motors.
- Build simulation, tracing, and replay systems to ensure changes are proven before reaching the factory and failures can be explained.
Requirements
- Experience working on and ideally architecting a large-scale robot code base running on real hardware in production.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and Rust (or C++ and a willingness to move to Rust), with a focus on types, testing, concurrency, and architecture.
- Experience with motion or path planning, multi-robot coordination, controls, perception, or scheduling.
- Hands-on experience applying large models (LLMs or vision-language models) to robotics, or a strong drive to do so.
- Ability to use coding agents to move faster and take full ownership of their output.
- Willingness to visit factories in the US and UK to see code run.
