About the role
- As a Software Engineer, you’ll build and own backend services, infrastructure, and data systems that support Robinhood’s next-generation crypto, web3, and wallet offerings.
- You’ll develop innovative solutions to deliver a best-in-class trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and infrastructure across Robinhood Wallet, Tokenization, and Web3 platform systems, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements.
- Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows.
- Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards.
- Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
- Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver impactful technical solutions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in software development.
- Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures.
- Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Care for correctness-critical systems—idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake.
- Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments and raising team-wide technical standards.
- Proven ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Interest in blockchain fundamentals—EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement—or a strong appetite to go deep quickly.
Benefits
- Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, and equity ownership
- Supplemental health insurance, ancillary insurance, and mental health support programs
- Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building
