About the role
- The Solution Engineer will identify, qualify, develop, and close business opportunities across the APJ region while supporting both direct customer engagements and the partner ecosystem.
- This role acts as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, focusing on discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and technical validation.
- A significant portion of the role involves strengthening partner technical capability through enablement, training, and joint customer engagements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical discovery to understand customer objectives, security requirements, and existing infrastructure.
- Lead customer meetings, workshops, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Translate complex technical and business requirements into practical solution designs and configurations.
- Plan and support proofs of concept or value, including defining test criteria and technical validation.
- Build trusted technical relationships with partners and develop their capability to position and support DigiCert solutions.
- Deliver partner enablement through structured training, technical workshops, and hands-on sessions.
- Represent DigiCert at partner, customer, and industry events.
- Design tailored technical solutions involving product configuration, deployment architecture, integrations, APIs, and automation.
- Support RFP and RFI responses, technical questionnaires, bids, tenders, and security reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Professional Services to validate feasibility and address complex requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical salesperson, or in an applicable technical role.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and communicating with technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience delivering technical training, enablement sessions, workshops, or presentations.
- Strong general IT knowledge including server administration, OS, TCP/IP networking, and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of information security concepts including PKI, digital certificates, cryptography, and certificate lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and container technologies like Kubernetes.
- Hands-on exposure to scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with partners, distributors, resellers, service providers, or technology alliances.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with certificate management platforms, PKI operations, HSMs, or cryptographic tools.
- Familiarity with code signing, load balancers, secure key storage, device identity, or software supply chain security.
- Understanding of SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect, and certificate-based authentication methods.
- Experience developing or delivering partner certification, enablement, or technical readiness programs.
- Additional APJ language capability.
