About the role
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Global Supply Manager to own end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery of leading-edge datacenter memory and storage solutions, spanning HBM, DDR5, enterprise SSDs and other memory on the roadmap.
- In this role, you will partner directly with silicon architects, memory and storage engineers, and platform teams to define commodity strategy, build multi-year technology roadmaps, establish and maintain the approved vendor list, and secure massive-scale supply at the record-breaking build speeds the SpaceXAI team is driving.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers and platform teams to define commodity strategy, align multi-year technology roadmaps, and maintain approved vendor lists for HBM, DDR5, server DRAM, SSDs, and next-generation solutions
- Orchestrate demand forecasting and allocation across SpaceXAI companies to ensure balanced supply support for all programs
- Own global sourcing, including supplier qualification, multi-sourcing strategies, and performance management to meet build schedules and reduce lead times
- Negotiate agreements focused on competitive pricing, volume commitments, and preferential allocation, using creative approaches where needed to secure supply at reasonable cost
- Align internal roadmaps with key vendors and collaborate on capacity planning and technology development
- Monitor supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans to protect build schedules
- Drive cost reduction through should-cost analysis, long-term agreements, and value engineering while meeting quality and reliability requirements
- Build strong supplier relationships through regular reviews and joint projects
- Track KPIs for cost, quality, delivery, and resilience; report progress to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience working in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering; or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- 7+ years of experience in global supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management with a focus on semiconductors, memory, storage, or datacenter infrastructure
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support supplier relationships and critical projects
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving priorities and world-class execution speed
- Position requires being onsite in Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, Asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State to conform to U.S. Government export regulations
Preferred qualifications
- Deep technical understanding of datacenter memory architectures (HBM, DDR5, LPDDR, high-bandwidth solutions), enterprise storage (SSDs, NVMe, storage-class memory), and related supply ecosystems
- Proven experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology or hyperscale environments with direct responsibility for large-scale memory/storage sourcing
- Previous experience at hyperscalers, memory/storage OEMs (e.g., Micron, SK hynix, Samsung), AI infrastructure companies, or semiconductor supply organizations
- Demonstrated success negotiating and managing complex, high-value supplier relationships in volatile, supply-constrained markets
- Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, financial modeling, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Familiarity with commodity management, long-term roadmap planning, vendor development, capacity reservation agreements, and approved vendor list processes
- Passion for SpaceX’s mission and excitement about contributing to the fastest AI infrastructure builds on Earth
