About the role
- The Sr. Sourcing Specialist, Construction will support construction projects that expand or optimize infrastructure for the Starship Program.
- This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing contracts, and driving cost reduction programs within a fast-paced procurement organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive contract management process with internal stakeholders.
- Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet purchasing targets.
- Develop and maintain internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models.
- Communicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategies.
- Identify and execute cost reduction projects including planning and coordination.
- Perform quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and measure supplier SLAs and KPIs.
- Conduct research, benchmarking, and market analysis for assigned categories.
- Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department.
- Manage contracts to ensure supplier performance to obligations.
Requirements
- Advanced degree; or bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
- Alternatively, 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned fields.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
- Must be able to work onsite in Starbase, TX.
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the work week.
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
Preferred qualifications
- Construction project management experience and/or construction cost estimate experience.
- Familiarity or experience in purchasing or similar procurement related experience.
- Experience in industrial engineering, construction management, and/or facilities management.
- Strong budget tracking and cost analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience managing large scale industrial and commercial construction projects.
- Strong contract negotiation and document management skills.
- Technical knowledge in MS Office Suite, SQL, and PowerBI.
Workplace
- Position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite.
- Remote work is not considered.
- Up to 20% work week travel may be required.
