- The Staff Software Engineer will own technical direction, thrive in ambiguity, and integrate AI into the software development lifecycle.

- The position requires influencing engineering standards across the organization and mentoring engineers while driving end-to-end technical strategies.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction, define architecture, and own the technical roadmap alongside product leadership.
- Scope ambiguous problems, identify risks, and break down large initiatives into deliverable increments.
- Design and deliver scalable, production-grade backend services and high-performance data pipelines.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate workflows and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities, such as LLMs and embeddings, into production systems.
- Drive cross-team technical initiatives, lead RFCs, and build consensus on architectural decisions.
- Own the full lifecycle of systems from requirements to release, including monitoring SLOs/SLIs and troubleshooting.
- Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, mentorship, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience shipping production code in at least two languages.
- Proven experience designing and owning production systems serving users at scale with consequential architectural decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives without formal authority.
- Strong system design instincts regarding failure modes, data flow, scalability, and operational cost.
- Deep DevOps and operational experience including Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team standards through pairing, reviews, and RFCs.
