About the role
- Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer for the ArsenalOS Deployment initiative within the Heavy Metal division.
- You will build full-stack web applications that power daily planning, work assignment, and team-lead dashboards directly on the factory floor.
- This role involves developing offline-capable, mobile-friendly interfaces that factory operators depend on in network-constrained environments.
Responsibilities
- Build full-stack web applications for daily production planning, work assignment, and team-lead operational dashboards that drive real-time factory execution.
- Develop offline-capable and mobile-friendly interfaces designed for the factory floor, ensuring operators can work seamlessly in network-constrained or intermittent connectivity environments.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to understand production workflows and translate them into software requirements.
- Write production-quality code with comprehensive tests, participating in code review and architectural discussions.
- Design and implement robust offline-first architectures using service workers, local storage, and background sync to ensure application functionality regardless of network conditions.
- Build responsive, touch-optimized mobile interfaces that work on tablets and mobile devices in harsh manufacturing environments.
- Architect and implement data synchronization strategies that handle conflict resolution and maintain data integrity between edge devices and backend systems.
- Deploy and operate your systems in factory environments, including edge compute clusters and OT networks.
- Leverage AI tooling in your development workflow and contribute to team engineering practices.
- Join an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in a software engineering role building production systems, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep expertise in full-stack web development, with demonstrated mastery of both frontend and backend systems.
- Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
- Proficiency with web-based technologies including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience building offline-capable web applications using service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and progressive web app (PWA) patterns.
- Experience building systems that must operate reliably under real-world operational constraints.
- Experience working with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OT-adjacent domains (MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, IoT).
- Hands-on experience building mobile-first or offline-capable web applications for network-constrained, industrial, or field environments.
- Experience with data synchronization patterns, conflict resolution strategies, and eventual consistency models in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with frontier AI tooling, AI coding assistants, and AI-enabled software development workflows.
- Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments, with demonstrated success balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term system health.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, WMS, or manufacturing planning systems.
- Experience designing UX/UI for non-desk workers, including touch-optimized, rugged device interfaces and accessibility considerations for manufacturing environments.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
