The Staff Software Engineer for the Ecosystem team will lead the technical direction of Airwallex’s ecosystem platform, connecting financial products with customer software.
This role involves designing and evolving platforms and integrations across accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, payment, and open-banking systems.
The engineer will build secure, reliable APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension patterns to enable third-party developers to build on Airwallex.

Lead the technical roadmap for the App Marketplace and Extension Framework.
Contribute to architectural decisions, coding standards, observability patterns, and security practices.
Design and evolve platforms and integrations across accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, payment, and open-banking systems.
Build secure, reliable APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension patterns.
Improve developer experience through documentation, sandboxes, and tooling.
Partner with engineering, product, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver secure, reliable experiences.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
7+ years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
Strong programming or scripting skills in a language such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or Python.
Deep familiarity with the standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of primary programming language.
Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework.
Experience designing scalable systems and making sound architectural decisions across complex technical domains.
Track record of leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from technical strategy through delivery.

Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design and applying it to complex business logic and microservice boundaries.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and advanced observability tools.
Experience integrating AI or large language models to automate integration workflows or improve developer tooling.
