About the role
- The Workforce Identity Cloud Security Engineering group is seeking an experienced software security engineer to design and develop solutions that harden frameworks and infrastructure. This role acts as a liaison between security and engineering teams to influence the security roadmap while building and owning security-oriented features.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the engineering, security and product orgs to develop innovative requirements for the security roadmap.
- Evangelize security best practices across the engineering org.
- Research, design, implement and own security oriented frameworks and features.
- Routinely participate in cross-vertical code reviews with emphasis on Security.
- Break down complex problems into sub-tasks while prototyping rapidly.
- Contribute to security initiatives using agile practices.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers in the team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of development experience in designing and implementing software systems in Java.
- 4+ years of work experience in designing and implementing security solutions for applications and distributed systems.
- Understanding of Application Security, Cryptography, Authentication, Authorization, Certificates and Secrets Management.
- Work experience using Cloud Service Providers such as AWS and GCP.
- Work experience using RDBMS like MySQL, including replication and clustering.
- Familiarity with data stores such as Redis and Elasticsearch.
- Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Strong leadership skills in security and engineering.
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) and located on U.S. soil.
- B.S or M.S in Computer Science or related fields.
Preferred qualifications
- Understanding of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) solutions, including quantum-resistant algorithms and cryptographic migration strategies.
- Understanding of designing, developing, and securing production-grade agentic AI systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and fixing production issues.
