Anthropic is hiring a dedicated Strategy & Operations Lead for Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) to partner with FDE leadership and own planning, capacity, pricing, and reporting.
This hands-on role sits on the GTM Strategy & Operations team and works closely with Finance, Deal Desk, Legal, Revenue Operations, Partnerships, and Applied AI.

Own FDE's annual and quarterly plan, including headcount, hiring by region and role, capacity, utilization, and engagement mix.
Model demand, capacity, and staffing with scenarios for hiring and prioritization decisions.
Run monthly and quarterly business reviews, set KPIs with FDE leadership, own the scorecard, and write leadership materials.
Build reporting with Revenue Operations and Data Science to track engagement, staffing, and outcome data without manual work.
Shape the commercial model by partnering with Finance, Deal Desk, and Legal on pricing, packaging, discounting, and contracting.
Scale through partners by building plans and economics for delivery partners, measuring their quality and cost.
Design the organization by working with FDE leadership and People on new roles, manager spans, and headcount placement.
Lead cross-functional projects spanning Sales, Applied AI, Customer Success, Product, and Research from problem definition to process.
Use Claude Code and agents to build and run models, dashboards, and workflows.

Have worked in strategy and operations, business operations, strategic finance, or consulting, including direct work with professional services, implementation, solutions engineering, or forward deployed teams.
Understand how a services business makes and loses money (utilization, staffing mix, rates, backlog, and margin) and how they connect to customer outcomes.
Can build a capacity or staffing model from scratch, explain assumptions, and pull data using SQL.
Have run planning cycles and business reviews for a senior leader and written materials personally.
Have taken an unclear question to a recommendation, decision, and process used by other teams.
Earn the trust of senior technical and commercial leaders and influence them without direct authority.
Comfortable working fast with imperfect data and simple processes that improve over time.
Use AI tools in current work and want to push further.

10+ years in GTM strategy and operations, business operations, or consulting
Built operations of a professional services or FDE team through fast growth
Worked on services pricing, statements of work, and deal terms with Finance and Legal
Built or managed delivery partner programs, including subcontracting, co-delivery, and partner economics
Experience in a consumption or usage-based business, including tying services work to product usage
Enough technical fluency to talk with engineers about how LLM applications are built (agents, evals, MCP)
Experience with Salesforce and professional services automation (PSA) tools
Experience at an AI, cloud, or developer infrastructure company

Location-based hybrid policy requiring all staff to be in an office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more time in offices.
