About the role
- The Talent Buyer is responsible for building relationships, identifying talent, and confirming profitable shows for AEG Worldwide. This role involves creating budgets, mapping venue scaling, building artist offers, and overseeing the marketing and ticketing of events.
Responsibilities
- Buy profitable talent by reaching out to agents and responding to inbound requests.
- Negotiate offer details with music agents for artist performances.
- Network and build relationships with agents, artist management, and venue managers.
- Oversee the marketing and ticketing of events.
- Create and monitor show or event budgets.
- Travel to cover road shows, events, and festivals.
- Handle the settlement of shows.
- Work with management to identify and build festival projects.
- Develop creative properties that can be grown into annual events.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related area.
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- Previous experience in the music industry with ability to assess music trends.
- Previous experience supervising, leading, or mentoring a team.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- General understanding of ticketing systems.
- Skilled in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and social media platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Established contacts and relationships in the music industry.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
