About the role
- The Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer will own performance development by integrating physical and virtual testing. This role involves collaborating with chassis, NVH, and vehicle control teams to ensure high-quality ride, handling, and vehicle integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high fidelity multibody vehicle dynamics models using MSC Adams
- Collaborate with the design team to assist supplier partners in improving ride and handling components
- Generate suspension, full vehicle, and PWT loads according to established processes
- Develop key vehicle dynamics metrics and targets using physical tests and CAE data
- Support performance balancing with other vehicle integration attributes and software controls development
- Support active safety performance development and validation to meet automotive industry standards
- Correlate simulation results with vehicle or subsystem measurements and improve simulation accuracy
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in vehicle dynamics performance development and simulation
- Experience in vehicle dynamics CAE development tools: MSC Adams, CarMaker, and Matlab/Simulink
- Masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of Dynamics CAE to test correlation
- Strong analytical skills
