About the role
- The Applied Scientist will solve open-ended problems within the GTM Science team, focusing on creator and content contextual signals. This role involves using machine learning to address business challenges in areas such as ads, brand safety, and content understanding, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy models into production.
Responsibilities
- Build machine learning products to enrich content understanding and support community discovery.
- Propose, design, and oversee execution for high-impact projects based on customer problems.
- Determine appropriate model selection between classical ML and state-of-the-art techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prototype and deploy models into data pipelines and services.
- Drive science culture by experimenting with new techniques in LLM, computer vision, inference, and model evaluation.
Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering.
- Experience with LLM model evaluations.
- Experience owning projects involving multiple scientists and engineers.
- Experience working with technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders.
- Expertise in Python and SQL.
- Proficiency with modern open-source ML libraries such as Pytorch or Tensorflow.
- Experience developing software in AWS or similar cloud-computing services.
Preferred qualifications
- PhD with a specialization in Machine Learning.
- Experience with computer vision.
- Experience with LLM inference.
- Experience with content understanding.
- 1+ years of experience working in GTM, Content, or Creator organizations.
- Familiarity with Twitch, its business, and its community.
