About the role
- MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, along with deep technical experience, to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems.
- Technical Service Engineers are experts in the entire MongoDB ecosystem including database server, drivers, cloud, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside largest customers to solve complex challenges resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between
- Serve as an expert resource on best practices in running MongoDB at scale
- Act as an advocate for customers' needs by interfacing with product management and development teams on their behalf
- Contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics
- Work frontline with customers after completing initial training
- Complete the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam
- Gain expertise to be part of a technical experts group within the MongoDB ecosystem and help peer engineers in advanced diagnostics
- Handle technical escalations independently
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of systems administration
- Experience with troubleshooting systems
- Knowledge of scalable and highly available distributed systems
- Understanding of network administration
- Knowledge of application architecture and data architecture and design
- Understanding of database architecture and administration
- Experience in performance tuning and benchmarking
- Previous experience in technical support
- A B.Tech / B.S. or equivalent work experience
Preferred qualifications
- Comfortable with modern AI concepts and proficient in using AI-assisted tools to accelerate troubleshooting and enhance day-to-day technical support workflows
- Knowledge on one or more of Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl
