About the role
- This internship at PrizePicks offers students the opportunity to work with the Data&ML platform team to productionize a platform that powers distributed systems for ETL and model development for real-time priced markets within the product.
Responsibilities
- Learn from the PrizePicks Data&ML Platform Engineering team on how we approach data, scalability, performance, and MLOps challenges.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of optimal sports data stream architecture, ensuring data reliability in both speed and quality for data pipelines.
- Collaborate with our Data Engineering and Data Science team to determine best paths for operationalization of Data pipelines and DS/ML assets, ensuring model output quality, stability, and scalability.
Requirements
- Strong computer science/engineering background in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or other quantitative field.
- Strong coding skills - Python, SQL.
- Demonstrable history of building robust data and ML platform applications and services.
- Good understanding of Kubernetes, CPU and GPU architectures.
- Interest in sports and fantasy sports markets.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with lower-level programming languages - Python, C++.
- Demonstrable background/coursework deploying a platform for data and/or machine learning applications or services from scratch.
- Success in open-source projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and collaboration experience with organizational technical and non-technical teams.
