About the role
- The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will own and operate the Snowflake data platform, supporting data pipelines that power customer-facing products.
- The role focuses on Snowflake administration, performance and cost optimization, and data engineering, with additional responsibilities in security, access governance, and cloud DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain multiple Snowflake accounts, including configuration and org structure.
- Manage Snowflake performance and cost through warehouse sizing, resource monitors, and query tuning.
- Manage platform changes using infrastructure-as-code and change management processes.
- Support and maintain Fivetran connectors for data ingestion.
- Support and maintain dbt models for product-facing datasets.
- Troubleshoot pipeline and transformation issues to ensure data reliability.
- Integrate platform and pipeline health monitoring into the team's observability stack.
- Design and manage role-based access control (RBAC) and data security policies.
- Manage user access lifecycles and SSO integration via Microsoft Entra ID.
- Support ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II audit requirements through access reviews and audit logging.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform administration.
- Hands-on production experience running Snowflake, including account management and performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of dbt and Fivetran or comparable ELT tools.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Working knowledge of Git-based version control and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience integrating platform/pipeline monitoring into centralized observability tools.
- General cloud SRE/DevOps experience, primarily AWS with exposure to Azure and OCI.
- Practical experience with user access management and SSO configuration.
- Familiarity with audit/compliance processes such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
- Good communication skills for working with engineering and security stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Amazon QuickSight or similar BI/visualization tools
- Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
- Experience with Python or equivalent for automation/scripting
- Experience working in a multi-cloud environment
- SnowPro Core or Administrator certification
- Background or experience with GRC, compliance, or security-conscious SaaS environments
