About the role
- The Director, Academics is responsible for driving student achievement and managing educational outcomes across schools in the state.
- This role serves as the primary link between internal Shared Services teams and external stakeholders, including government officials and school communities.
- The Director will own the yearly academic plan and lead the execution of academic initiatives through interdepartmental coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution and interdepartmental coordination of the core academic program through the creation of the Academic Plan.
- Advocate for learning outcomes and serve as the academic expert for other departments.
- Provide feedback to the Instructional Design team to improve learning outcomes and contextualize content.
- Represent NewGlobe with key state stakeholders, including SUBEB, MOE, and UBEC.
- Conduct market and regulatory research to inform instructional systems and policies.
- Identify areas of growth within academic offerings and create programs or policies to improve student learning.
- Manage the Academics team based in the territory, specifically the Programme Manager.
- Project manage all academic events and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working with primary schools as a teacher, school leader, or as part of a project.
- Experience working as an in-house or external consultant evaluating student learning or teacher development.
- Data-driven mindset with experience developing and managing cultures of high performance.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and represent the organization to external audiences.
- Ability to flourish in fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environments.
Preferred qualifications
- Graduate degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience writing reports and/or interpreting outcomes with government officials at SUBEB, MOE, UBEC, or similar organizations.
- Experience in a start-up or other rapid-growth company.
- Existing network from prior experience in the country, preferably in the regulatory, education, or business sectors.
