About the role
- The Engineering Manager for DevEx will lead the Deploy & Run team to build and evolve internal developer platforms, GitOps workflows, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- This role focuses on creating reusable, high-impact systems that improve deployment velocity, system reliability, and overall developer productivity across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering leadership to identify developer friction and platform opportunities.
- Guide architecture and technical strategy for the Internal Developer Platform, deployment workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
- Build reusable patterns, self-service tooling, and guardrails to simplify engineering workflows.
- Provide platform engineers with context, clear decision boundaries, and meaningful ownership.
- Encourage an automation-first mindset to reduce toil and create scalable self-service capabilities.
- Standardize workflows, improve observability, and embed operational excellence into development processes.
- Hire, coach, and retain platform and software engineers.
- Drive platform adoption through collaboration, clear documentation, and empathy.
- Measure success by improved deployment velocity, system reliability, and platform adoption.
Requirements
- Experience managing high-performing platform engineering teams.
- Skilled at project planning, tracking, and creation of team roadmaps.
- Technical expertise in Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in Python for internal tooling, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, and Datadog.
- Proven track record of improving developer experience, deployment reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
- Platform mindset focused on reusable systems, self-service tooling, and scalable guardrails.
- Clear, direct communication skills for technical and product engineering stakeholders.
