About the role
- The Engineering Manager will lead a new team within the Issuing organization to develop and scale digital and physical card issuance solutions.
- This role involves influencing product strategy, managing the technical roadmap, and building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up.
- The position is part of the broader Financial Services product organization and requires close collaboration with product, commercial, and operations partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the technical roadmap for the issuing program construct.
- Establish and hire a new engineering team from the ground up.
- Act as a technical leader and domain expert for banking products.
- Coach, mentor, and manage the performance and professional development of engineers.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to manage project timelines and address technical debt.
- Enforce best engineering practices and maintain a high technical bar.
- Represent the product's technical decisions across the organization and to clients.
- Maintain a product mindset to propose new features and shape future product direction.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in people management.
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and coach high-performance engineering teams.
- Experience in the FinTech domain with exposure to Issuing and/or Banking, or experience managing technical delivery of a critical, global product at scale.
- In-depth knowledge of building and scaling API-based financial services.
- Ability to discuss and challenge technical decisions made by Senior+ engineers.
- Strong execution, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for new visa sponsorship.
