  • As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in annual digital payment transaction value.

About the role

  • We are looking for an Engineering Relations Partner to join the Corporate Affairs and R&D teams, working closely with engineering teams to tell the story of what is being built.
  • This is a technical content execution role requiring strong, foundational engineering skills to translate what engineers build and learn into high-quality narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering teams to tell the story of what we're building in a language that other expert engineers understand.
  • Translate what our engineers build and learn into high-quality narratives that earn respect in engineering communities, get accepted at top-tier conferences, and attract exceptional engineers.
  • Walk into a room of engineers as a peer, ask the right questions, and come out with a story worth telling.
  • Independently dive into engineering projects, spot the most compelling technical breakthroughs or lessons, and build content around them without needing explicit instruction.
  • Manage multiple projects, technical interviews, and deadlines independently in a fully remote environment.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering capabilities with a solid background in computer science or software engineering.
  • Experience writing and shipping code professionally, understanding modern system architectures, and deeply engaging with complex technical concepts.
  • Technical depth through experience working within fintech, infrastructure, distributed systems, or high-scale engineering environments.
  • Ability to comfortably read codebases, interpret technical documentation, and grasp deep architecture choices.
  • Exceptional writing skills with clarity, precision, and the ability to articulate intricate technical trade-offs and ideas accessibly.
  • Proactive narrative instinct to independently dive into engineering projects and build content around them.
  • Technical credibility with a genuine, firsthand understanding of what makes technical content credible, shareable, and respected by discerning engineering communities.
  • Autonomy to manage multiple projects, technical interviews, and deadlines independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Active engineering or open-source involvement such as an active presence in developer spaces, an updated technical blog, open-source contributions, or a history of speaking at engineering conferences.
  • Developer Relations experience or managing technical communities, showing how to engage developers authentically at scale.
  • Track record in technical publishing with experience drafting accepted conference abstracts/proposals (CFPs) for recognized industry events.
  • Multimodal content production experience writing technical video scripts, technical teardowns, or working alongside creative production teams.
