About the role
- The Facilities and Waste Water Systems Technician supports both facility operations and the onsite Industrial Wastewater Treatment System (IWTS). This role balances general building maintenance and repairs with the operation, monitoring, and regulatory documentation of wastewater treatment processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repair activities throughout the facility.
- Respond to plumbing, lighting, ceiling tile, signage, and door hardware repairs.
- Assemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving systems, and workplace equipment.
- Support employee relocations and workspace reconfigurations.
- Assist with facility renovations, remodels, and construction projects.
- Coordinate and monitor outside vendors and contractors.
- Operate and monitor the Industrial Wastewater Treatment System (IWTS).
- Inspect pumps, piping systems, valves, mixers, controls, and holding tanks.
- Collect samples, monitor pH levels, and adjust treatment processes.
- Maintain regulatory records, reports, logs, and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of facilities, maintenance, wastewater, or related industrial experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Solid knowledge of facility maintenance and repair practices.
- Solid knowledge of Industrial Wastewater Treatment System (IWTS) operations.
- Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including pH monitoring and chemical handling.
- Solid knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE usage.
- Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
