About the role
- The Field CTO is a Principal Solutions Architect-level role within the Strategic Field Organization, supporting global strategic prospects and customers.
- This position focuses on DevSecOps transformation, solution recommendations, and providing advisory services to senior technical leadership at customer organizations.
- The role involves collaborating with regional account teams on large engagements and acting as a bridge between customer needs and GitLab's product strategy.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain relationships with customer executives to contribute to large Net ARR deals and customer success.
- Provide executive-level thought leadership on strategic new logo and growth opportunities.
- Curate and manage field feedback while collaborating with the product team on roadmap and issue prioritization.
- Scale and grow regional-level expertise within the field through contributions to enablement and content.
- Act as a prospect and customer advocate on DevSecOps transformation initiatives.
- Build and maintain subject matter expertise in GitLab-targeted technology sectors through industry monitoring and participation in external working groups.
- Keep up to date on emerging methodologies and technologies to drive solution strategy and influence product strategy.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a CTO or Principal Solution Architect with architecture of enterprise software development workflows.
- Experience delivering information/Cyber Security and compliance-related solutions and assessments.
- Experience with software development tools, practices, and methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate strategies to all levels of an organization.
- Ability and willingness to learn and use GitLab as an integral part of the role.
- Ability to travel and comply with the company’s travel policy.
