- As a Financial Manager focused onTechnology Infrastructure, you will have financial and strategic oversight for managing and optimizing the significant investments Pinterest makes in its technology infrastructure (primarily AWS, our cloud-based computational and storage provider). This is a critical role that sits at the center of how Pinterest executes its technology and innovation strategy. You will play a key role - in partnership with technology infrastructure leadership - in governing our infrastructure investments, managing key vendor relationships (especially AWS) and ensuring we can cost effectively serve Pinners and Advertisers while also enabling future technological innovation … while also being able to allocate and track costs at the appropriate level within the company. These teams and technology service providers are the foundation of our online service as well as how our Engineering, Product and Design teams execute their work.
About the role
- The Finance Manager I, Platform will provide financial and strategic oversight for managing and optimizing Pinterest's technology infrastructure investments.
- This role partners with technology infrastructure leadership to govern investments, manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
- The position focuses on forecasting, variance analysis, and driving an AI-first approach to technology finance partnership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Technical Program Management teams to develop operational investments and financial forecasts.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis.
- Identify and drive initiatives to improve, automate, and grow OPEX and infrastructure forecasting and reporting tools.
- Embed AI tools into forecasting, metrics analysis, and finance decision-making.
- Design usage prediction models for short and long-term resource capacity needs.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Perform strategic, time-sensitive analysis and communicate key takeaways.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of Finance or Business Operational experience in a fast-paced industry.
- Experience with forecasting expenses.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate financial analysis and forecasting workflows.
- Experience in managing multiple work-streams end-to-end.
- Experience working across multiple functions and teams.
- Expertise in building high-level and detailed financial models.
- Strong business partnership skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and deliver against timelines.
