About Cape
- Cape is America’s privacy-first mobile carrier. Our mission is to be a force for good in global wireless. Cape was founded in 2022 by people who believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a luxury to be traded away. Our journey began when our founder recognized a critical vulnerability in our modern world: everyone relies on the same stagnant cellular infrastructure and legacy systems that track our every movement, monitor and profile our connections, and lose and sell our personal data.
- Instead of accepting the status quo, we decided to fix it. National security professionals, journalists, parents, and everyone in between can stay connected and have privacy.
- We didn’t just build a layer on top of old tech; we built America’s most private and secure mobile carrier from the ground up. By building our own network from scratch, we are able to design and build a suite of privacy and security features that no other carrier on the planet can offer.
- Today, Cape provides our secure network to consumers, businesses, and government agencies alike. We closed our Series C in March 2026, and we are scaling rapidly, with the goal of giving people back control of their most personal information.
About the role
- Cape is looking for its first FP&A manager to help build and scale the company's financial forecasting, planning, and reporting infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to build annual budgets, and with RevOps and Consumer analytics to maintain an up-to-date monthly forecast.
- Own monthly budget-vs-actuals and variance analysis in partnership with accounting, while reporting on monthly outlook versus forecast and unit economics.
- Maintain integrated financial models, including operating models, 3-statement models, and scenario or sensitivity analysis.
- Define and track KPIs and build dashboards for real-time visibility into business performance.
- Assist in preparing board materials, investor updates, and executive operating reviews.
- Shape the company's financial narrative for internal and external audiences.
- Serve as an embedded finance partner to leaders to translate priorities into actionable business cases supporting capital allocation.
- Partner closely with RevOps, accounting, consumer analytics, and operations to build robust and scalable systems and automation.
Requirements
- 4+ years in corporate finance, BizOps investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with at least 2 years at a technology company.
- Track record owning a planning cycle and partnering with senior or executive stakeholders.
- Advanced financial modeling experience from scratch, including strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong business-partnering instincts with the ability to translate numbers into narratives and influence without authority.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience tailoring messages for executive audiences.
- Ownership mentality and bias toward building and automating rather than manual processes.
