SurveyMonkey is seeking Machine Learning Engineers to join either the Machine Learning Platform team or the Product Data Science team.
The role involves building enterprise-scale NLP and ML systems, ranging from statistical methods to LLMs, to power product features and infrastructure.
Engineers will work at the intersection of Data Science, DevOps, and Product to own end-to-end ML solutions.

Build and own end-to-end ML/AI solutions within the product through deployment, refinement, and iterative enhancements.
Develop end-to-end monitoring and telemetry systems to detect failure modes, predictive accuracy deterioration, and usage patterns.
Architect scalable ML platforms and production data pipelines.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new data sources.
Create novel and traditional ML/AI implementations for in-product experiences.
Train, fine-tune, and deploy models ranging from statistical methods to LLMs.
Drive continuous improvement through research and adoption strategies for external solutions.
Identify knowledge gaps and ensure hiring and training initiatives address capability needs.

Extensive professional experience in Machine Learning and Data Science building and maintaining models in production.
Strong expertise in Natural Language Processing, statistical modelling, and modern ML methods.
Experience handling data at scale with familiarity in Human-In-The-Loop labelling and exploratory data analysis.
Proven expertise in creating evaluations for non-deterministic systems, including LLM-as-Judge techniques.
Experience developing production monitoring and feedback loops using active and passive signals.
SaaS development and deployment experience with CI/CD practices in AWS environments.
Demonstrated experience building LLM-powered product integrations, including Agents, RAG, and prompt engineering.
Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Hybrid role requiring attendance at a SurveyMonkey office for up to 1 day per week.
Locations include Italy (Remote) and Ottawa.
