About the role
- The Material Transfer Driver will load, transport, and unload manufacturing and support items within a 2.5-mile radius of the SpaceX Hawthorne campus. This role operates on a weekend shift schedule and focuses on safe material handling and inventory support.
Responsibilities
- Load, drive, and unload manufacturing, test, and support items within a 2.5-mile radius of the SpaceX campus
- Safely load trucks at pickup points and transport truckload to destination
- Safely load and unload trucks at designated drop off points
- Operate forklifts as the primary method of loading and unloading
- Ensure truckload contents are secure for safe and undamaged delivery
- Scan barcodes meeting business WMS requirements
- Contribute to Receiving, Material Handling, and Inventory operations
- Review documentation for correct items and delivery areas
- Maintain delivery paperwork to ensure items are not damaged
- Monitor vehicle service records and maintain vehicle cleanliness
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of driving experience
- 1+ years of experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles
- Valid California Class C license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Willingness to work weekend shift hours (Friday-Monday 9am-9:30pm), overtime, and weekends
- Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Preferred qualifications
- Material handling and stake bed driving experience (under 26k GVW)
- Trucking experience, preferably with customer-service oriented delivery background
- Experience driving for a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong customer-service delivery background
- Counter-balance sit-down forklift experience
