Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the role

  • The Partner Solutions Engineer, Ecosystem, owns the technical outcomes for partner integrations within Stripe's app and developer-platform ecosystem.
  • This role bridges the gap between Stripe's Product and Engineering teams and external partners, managing the full lifecycle from architecture and implementation to launch readiness.
  • The position involves both hands-on technical delivery for priority partners and the creation of reusable guidance and product feedback to scale the ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical planning, architecture, implementation support, testing, and launch readiness for selected partner integrations.
  • Translate partner goals into clear technical requirements, dependencies, milestones, and success criteria.
  • Lead critical partner escalations and resolve complex production integration failures.
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize integrations and determine where dedicated technical support creates the most value.
  • Advise partners and internal teams on embedded experiences, workflow automation, application distribution, and monetization.
  • Identify recurring friction and unmet partner needs to influence the Stripe Product roadmap.
  • Build prototypes, examples, scripts, or lightweight tooling to accelerate partner delivery.
  • Define launch-readiness standards across permissions, authorization, testing, and observability.
  • Transition mature integration patterns to scalable support models.
  • Define and track technical milestones, launch outcomes, and adoption signals.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in solutions engineering, partner engineering, software engineering, technical consulting, or developer relations engineering.
  • Experience designing and delivering production integrations using APIs, webhooks, authentication, authorization, or event-driven systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and debug code in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Java, or Go).
  • Experience diagnosing complex integration failures across partner systems, APIs, and product surfaces.
  • Experience leading external partners from technical discovery through implementation, testing, and launch.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous partner goals into clear architecture, delivery plans, and technical decisions.
  • Ability to identify patterns across multiple implementations and turn them into reusable guidance or Product requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams like Product, Engineering, Partnerships, or Sales without relying on direct authority.
  • Sound judgment when balancing partner urgency, Product constraints, and long-term platform leverage.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with developer platforms, platform ecosystems, marketplaces, or partner-distributed products.
  • Experience with application extensibility, embedded applications, workflow automation, OAuth, or delegated API access.
  • Experience with payments, fintech, commerce, billing, monetization, or financial operations.
  • Experience creating partner certification, integration-quality, or launch-readiness programs.
  • Experience building prototypes, examples, or developer tooling that influenced a Product roadmap.

Workplace

  • Hybrid work policy: 50% office attendance per month required for candidates living within 35 miles of a Stripe office (NYC, SF, Chicago, Atlanta, or Seattle).
  • Fully remote work available for candidates living more than 35 miles from a Stripe office.
