About the role
- The Receiver at Soho House is responsible for processing all food and beverage stock ordered for the house.
- This role oversees the cleanliness of storage areas and ensures an efficient flow of goods by documenting, storing, and distributing stock.
Responsibilities
- Receive all perishable and non-perishable beverage and food orders.
- Verify and document the quantity received of produce, fruits, dry goods, liqueur, chemicals, and supplies.
- Provide support to vendors and management in the receiving of all other supplies.
- Check received merchandise for quality and quantity and reject unacceptable items.
- Distribute merchandise according to food safety rules and storage orders.
- Ensure the smooth working of FIFO of walk-ins and freezers.
- Conduct inventory as advised and communicate results to management.
- Complete daily checklists with the overnight porter.
- Wipe down and sanitize all areas of bar storage to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- 1+ years’ relative experience with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to read labels and follow safety instructions.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb.
