About the role
- The Senior Analyst, Market Supervision owns the day-to-day operations of the function across both integrity monitoring and member supervision workflows.
- The role is deliberately generalist in scope, providing continuous operational coverage across the full supervisory cycle and delivering analytical and procedural assurance work under HoMS delegation.
Responsibilities
- Act as the operational interface with the Market Surveillance function on alert flow, case referrals and data requests.
- Perform first-line triage and review of surveillance alerts, documenting rationale for closure, escalation or further enquiry.
- Prepare escalation packs for HoMS review, setting out the facts, the relevant rule provisions and the recommended supervisory outcome.
- Manage the end-to-end admission due diligence pipeline for prospective Members and Remote Members of the RIE and RCH, from application receipt to recommendation.
- Perform member risk assessments against the Exchange Member Risk Assessment (EMRA) scorecard, applying the scoring methodology consistently and evidencing each score against source documents.
- Execute the ongoing supervision cycle including periodic member reviews, annual audited financial statement collection and review, margin and financial resources monitoring, notification-of-change processing, and client-level screening verification.
- Monitor member compliance with admission conditions and undertakings, and escalate breaches or deteriorating risk indicators to the HoMS.
- Prepare draft responses to FSRA Requests for Information (RFIs) across both integrity and member matters for HoMS review and approval.
- Support intra-business-unit advisory on new product launches and market model changes, identifying MIR and Rulebook touchpoints and supervisory requirements.
- Maintain and improve the function's procedures, templates, checklists and scorecards, keeping them aligned to rulebook changes and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in market supervision, market surveillance, exchange or clearing house membership, regulatory affairs, or financial services regulation, gained at a market infrastructure, exchange, clearing house, regulator or regulated financial institution.
- Working knowledge of a market infrastructure regulatory framework and rulebook regime, and the ability to interpret and apply rule provisions to specific facts.
- Demonstrated experience in institutional or corporate due diligence, including reviewing KYC / KYB documentation, assessing ownership and control structures, and applying a structured risk assessment or scoring methodology.
- Experience preparing written work for senior review or regulatory submission, with strong drafting discipline: concise, structured, decision-ready and grounded in cited evidence.
- Sound judgement in distinguishing material from immaterial findings, and the discipline to flag gaps and inconsistencies explicitly rather than smoothing over them.
- Strong organisational capability to run a pipeline of concurrent matters against agreed turnaround times with rigorous record-keeping.
- Ability to operate with independence and integrity within a control function, and comfort holding a position under commercial pressure.
Preferred qualifications
- Direct experience of the ADGM FSRA framework, the Market Infrastructure Rules (MIR), or an equivalent recognised exchange or clearing house rulebook regime.
- Experience with exchange or clearing member admission processes, including remote membership and cross-border access arrangements.
- Familiarity with market abuse and market conduct typologies, and with surveillance alert triage and case management.
- Exposure to digital asset markets alongside traditional securities, derivatives or clearing products.
- Experience of anti-money laundering and sanctions screening frameworks, PEP and adverse media review, and enhanced due diligence (EDD) on higher-risk relationships.
- Relevant professional qualification in financial regulation, compliance, risk or law.
- Arabic language capability.
