About the role

  • As Senior Director, Distribution Operations, you will shape how Axon scales its global distribution capabilities while leading safe, reliable, and cost-effective distribution execution across the Americas.
  • This role carries two complementary mandates: serve as the global subject matter expert for distribution operations, establishing standards and guiding capability development across regions; and lead Americas distribution operations.
  • You will connect enterprise strategy with operational delivery to strengthen customer fulfillment, manufacturing support, inventory integrity, and resilience as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Define the global operating framework, establishing distribution standards, process ownership, and maturity roadmaps spanning receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Set performance standards and governance, defining common KPIs, reporting definitions, operating reviews, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Shape network and capacity strategy by partnering with Supply Chain, Finance, and regional teams on distribution footprint, capacity planning, facility design, insource-versus-outsource decisions, and business cases for expansion.
  • Guide technology and transformation by defining operational requirements and priorities for WMS, TMS, ERP integration, automation, and analytics.
  • Advance global operational excellence by leading cross-regional improvement initiatives and establishing repeatable approaches to Lean, standard work, root-cause problem solving, launch readiness, and operational risk management.
  • Own regional operating performance by leading the Americas distribution network through site and functional leaders.
  • Translate growth into execution by developing and delivering regional operating plans, budgets, staffing strategies, and capacity plans.
  • Deliver financial and partner performance by owning regional distribution operating budgets and productivity improvement plans, and establishing service expectations for third-party logistics providers.
  • Protect inventory integrity and production flow by establishing robust cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and inventory controls.
  • Lead safe, compliant, resilient operations by embedding safety, quality, security, and business continuity into daily execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or supply chain operations, including 5+ years leading multi-site operations and developing leaders.
  • Demonstrated accountability for regional or comparable large-scale operating performance, budgets, capacity planning, and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience establishing distribution standards and influencing adoption across countries, regions, or a complex matrix organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory controls, manufacturing replenishment, 3PL management, and WMS/ERP-enabled processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to use operational and financial data to drive decisions, build business cases, and communicate effectively with senior executives.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading distribution across the Americas and supporting global operations in a high-growth, complex hardware or manufacturing environment.
  • Track record of distribution network expansion, facility start-ups, automation, and enterprise systems implementation.
  • Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, or related certification; advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience improving customer fulfillment, cost-to-serve, inventory accuracy, and productivity while strengthening safety and employee engagement.
