About the role
- The Senior Project Manager at AKQA is responsible for the full life cycle of complex, multidisciplinary client projects from inception through to delivery.
- This role involves translating client ambitions into clear scopes, delivery plans, and successful outcomes while managing project commercials, resources, and risks.
- The position requires a highly collaborative, client-facing approach to lead multidisciplinary teams and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver large-scale, complex projects on time and to budget.
- Manage multiple projects or interconnected workstreams, balancing priorities and dependencies.
- Translate complex client briefs into clear project approaches, scopes, plans, and budgets.
- Write thorough scopes of work defining deliverables, assumptions, and commercial parameters.
- Take ownership of project financials, including budgets, forecasting, burn rates, and profitability.
- Forecast resource requirements and work with Resource Management to secure capabilities.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies with proactive solutions.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across Strategy, Creative, Design, Experience, Technology, and Data.
- Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Manage third-party suppliers, technology partners, and production partners.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a multi-disciplined service delivery function in an agency environment.
- Experience leading complex on-location content production shoots.
- Knowledge of content production processes and working with third-party production partners.
- Business-level fluency in both German and English, including verbal and written professional communication.
- Ability to engage in complex discussions, negotiations, and prepare formal documentation in both German and English.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to make sound commercial and financial decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality production.
- Systematic, methodical, and pragmatic approach to project management.
- Strong customer service ethos and negotiation skills.
