About the role

  • Anduril Australia's Dive-XL Platform team is building the software and systems that define how an extra-large autonomous undersea vehicle operates, navigates, and executes missions.
  • This role sits at the centre of how Dive-XL's software capabilities are shaped and delivered, working closely with stakeholders across engineering, maritime technology, and program teams to drive product design.
  • As a Senior Software Product Manager, you will own the 'what' and the 'why' for software on a platform that is actively deployed and scaling, championing operator experience and translating operational needs into well-defined software requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Empathize with end-users and drive solutions that balance their needs with external constraints, restrictions and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Be the voice of the user by developing informed empathy for end-users in the context of one or more steps in the lifecycle of un-crewed systems.
  • Advocate for Software Product Management within the teams you interact with and support Software Engineers and Managers to develop empathy themselves by coaching user research best practices.
  • Be an expert on the existing and future planned product capabilities for your products.
  • Articulate detailed written product requirements for your area of focus, at different levels of product maturity, informed by your understanding of user, customer and business needs and constraints, existing solutions, and technical architecture.
  • Hold a high bar for visual design and information architecture, providing valuable input within a collaborative multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Manage a 6 - 18 month roadmap for your allocated projects.
  • Define, document, gain consensus for, and communicate appropriate goals and plans for your projects, derived from broader organizational vision, strategy, and priorities.
  • Co-ordinate your project(s) roadmap and execution with other teams across Anduril, with the aim of developing components that are re-usable across multiple Anduril product lines.
  • Travel to co-locate with end-users and/or other teams up to 20% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive professional experience working as a Software Product Manager with one or more domains of expertise
  • Capacity to act as the owner for a software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team co-ordination, design, implementation management, sustainment and evolution
  • Capacity to learn and grow individually, while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity
  • Experience leading the design and execution of user engagement and research studies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the delivery or employment of a military mission system and/or autonomous vehicle
  • Experience with the design, implementation and operation of horizontally scaled cloud technologies

  • Experience with the development of high assurance safety critical software, including with DO-178, IEC 61508, or similar standards
  • Experience with the development of modeling and simulation capabilities
